Sometimes it’s easier to carry on with familiar routines, well-trodden paths and cosy traditions. Sometimes you reach a point though where those old habits just aren’t working for you any more and it’s time to try something new.
It can be a scary prospect…trying something new.
What if it goes wrong?
What if I look silly?
What if I lose money?
Well yes, there can be risks – but without taking any risks, we risk stagnation in our ideas, our aspirations and our goals. Sometimes we just have to take the plunge and try something new, whether it’s a new business direction, a new collaboration, or a new supplier. That’s not to say we don’t do the research and groundwork first of course: asking around for opinions and feedback from others and planning a new strategy, based on informed decisions, before making up our minds. I mean, if we were visiting a new restaurant, we’d probably ask a friend if they’ve been there and what they thought of it first, wouldn’t we?
Ultimately though, it’s down to our own belief that the idea is sound and worth the risk and then we need to have the conviction to follow it through.
Today could be the day when you make the change that sets in motion a new direction for your business – and maybe even your life. Have the courage to see what’s out there and then let go…try a new path…who knows where it may lead.
